HOFBRAU ORIGINAL, Ale

9:19pm, 48 degrees, clear skies.

Hofbrau Original, 11.2oz - Germany - Ale

Hofbrau. Say it. H o f b r a u. It even sounds like you want to drink a keg of it! This is a delicious beer from Germany. A very light ale. Very similar to Bass Ale from England, it has a fruity/nutty flavor and is very easy on the palette (spelling?).

VAN PUR, Lager(?)

8:15pm. 49 degrees, clear skies.

Van Pur, 16.9oz. - Poland - Lager (maybe ale, see below)

Van Pur has a very flavorful taste for a lager. It may even be a very very light ale, but has the color of a bright pilsner...? The label neither states ale or lager. Either way, I would take this beer anytime. Would go great with salads and light meals (if your in to that sort of food).

BAVIK, Lager

5:31pm. 53 degrees, partly cloudy.

BAVIK, 11.2 oz. - Belgium - Lager

A very light and crisp pilsner with a slightly cloudy appearance. This beer would make a great refreshment during a hot summer day. Note: Leaves a bad aftertaste when drank with string cheese, but that may be true for any beer...

GOLDEN PHEASANT, Lager

3:41pm. 46 degrees, cloudy.

GOLDEN PHEASANT, 16.9 oz. - Slovak Republic - Lager

Another good lager. Golden color with a lasting head. The Golden Pheatsant had a rich lager taste with slight metalic aftertaste. This would be very good with some raw Quilcene oysters.

ZATEC, Lager

3:13pm. 45 degrees, cloudy.

ZATEC, 16.9 oz bottle - Czech Republic - Lager

I really liked this beer from Zatec Brewery located in the Czech Republic. A dark golden color with a full initial head. Smooth and slightly nutty. Purchased from Pike Street Beer & Wine in Seattle, WA.
